Mending Roots. Cultivating Balance.

Regeneration Grove Psychiatry was founded with the belief that mental health care should look beyond symptoms and seek to understand the whole person. Throughout my years in healthcare, I have seen how easily treatment can become focused primarily on managing symptoms with medication without fully exploring the many factors that may be contributing to how someone feels.

I wanted to create a different kind of psychiatric practice—one where there is time to listen, ask questions, look deeper, and develop an individualized approach to care. A place where traditional psychiatric treatment and integrative approaches can work together, and where patients are active participants in deciding what their path toward wellness looks like.

Why Regeneration Grove?

The name Regeneration Grove reflects the philosophy at the heart of my practice.

Regeneration represents our capacity for renewal, growth, healing, and meaningful change. Even during difficult seasons, there can be opportunities to better understand what is happening, strengthen what is working, and move toward greater balance and well-being

A grove represents both individuality and connection. Every tree has its own roots, history, environment, and needs. What allows one to thrive may be different from what another needs. Yet what happens beneath the surface is often just as important as what we can see above it.

I believe people are much the same. Mental well-being can be influenced by many interconnected factors—including genetics, physical health, nutrition, sleep, movement, medications, relationships, environment, stress, life experiences, and emotional health.

My approach to care

Mending Roots

Looking Beneath the Symptoms

I believe there is more than one path toward mental wellness.

Every person comes with a different history, biology, life experiences, beliefs, preferences, and goals. Because of that, mental health treatment should not look exactly the same for everyone.

Psychiatric medication can be an important, and sometimes essential, part of treatment, but it is not the only tool available. Depending on your individual needs, clinical circumstances, and preferences, care may incorporate:

  • Medication management

  • Psychotherapy

  • Laboratory evaluation and pharmacogenetic testing

  • Nutrition, supplements, and herbs

  • Exercise, sleep, and lifestyle changes

There isn't always one identifiable “root cause.” Mental health is complex, and symptoms often arise from multiple interacting factors. Mending roots means being willing to ask more questions, explore potential contributing factors, and consider how different aspects of your health and life may be interconnected.

Cultivating Balance

Your Path. Your Care.

One of the most important principles of my practice is that you have a voice in your care.

My role is not to decide your path for you. It is to listen, provide education, discuss available treatment options and their potential benefits and risks, and use my clinical experience to help you make informed decisions about your care.

For one person, the right path may include medication. Another may want to explore nutrition, lifestyle changes, supplements, herbs, or psychotherapy when clinically appropriate. For many people, the best approach may be a thoughtful combination of several strategies.

There is no single path to wellness because no two people are exactly alike.

You bring your experiences, values, preferences, and goals. I bring my psychiatric training, clinical experience, and knowledge of available treatment options. Together, we develop an approach to care that is individualized to you.

Meet Your Provider

Lleva Groves is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has worked in healthcare since 2013. Her career began in the hospital setting, where she gained experience in cardiac care and neurology before becoming a trauma nurse in the emergency department of a Level I Trauma Center. Her years in acute care exposed her to people experiencing complex medical, neurological, and emotional challenges and helped shape her interest in the connection between physical and mental health.

After transitioning into psychiatry, Lleva trained with patients beginning at age three and has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Her experience includes caring for first responders, individuals with special needs, and neurodivergent patients in outpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) settings.

Lleva has experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, eating disorders, insomnia, and mental health concerns experienced by individuals with autism. She also has a growing interest in supporting individuals living with chronic pain and exploring the complex relationship between physical symptoms and mental health. Her approach focuses on getting to know the person behind the symptoms and understanding the experiences, circumstances, and contributing factors that may be affecting their mental health and overall well-being.

Lleva’s psychiatric experience also includes working with specialized treatments such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), IV ketamine, and Spravato®. Throughout her career, she has valued collaboration across healthcare and has worked alongside neurologists, nephrologists, primary care providers, therapists, and other professionals. Her background in both medicine and psychiatry continues to shape how she approaches mental health and considers the many factors that can influence how a person feels and functions.

Lleva values continued learning and has pursued additional training to broaden her understanding of mental health, the nervous system, and whole-person care. She has completed training in polyvagal theory and brings a polyvagal-informed lens to her work. She has also pursued training in functional and integrative psychiatry through Psychiatry Redefined, founded by Dr. James Greenblatt, and completed ASCH-approved Level 1 and Level 2 clinical hypnosis training.

Meditation and mindfulness are meaningful parts of Lleva’s life and also influence her approach to care. She maintains her own mindfulness and meditation practices and incorporates these approaches into her work when appropriate. She also recognizes that spirituality can be an important part of a person’s life and well-being and strives to provide space for individuals experiencing spiritual questions, struggles, or concerns. Her experiences in healthcare and continued education have shaped her belief that mind, body, and spirit are interconnected and can each play a role in mental health and overall well-being.

Outside of psychiatry, Lleva enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and their Beagle-mix pup. She values exercise, self-care, and spending time in nature. In her free time, she also enjoys traveling, baking, reading, and creative activities.
